Across the Hall Trailer
I stumbled across this trailer a few minutes ago on BD
and it looks incredibly suspenseful. Brittany Murphy looking hot is apparently cheating on her husband who finds out and steals his bestfriends gun ( who is no other then Eric Rivers from Grind) to make an example of her.. And things just get more intense from there.. Check it out

Stepfather

Dylan Walsh, in most roles I've seen him play has always come across as a "nice guy" which he plays in this movie like the original but seeing the "other" side played by Walsh really was shocking.. and I mean that in a good way. Walsh is one sick fucker in the remake of this classic 70's suspense/thriller. The PG-13 rating does keep this movie from potential that would make it more entertaining for the slasher fans (like myself) out there. Don't get me wrong this movie is wayyy under rated for what it is. In the remake category it is probably lacking a few key elements that hinder away from keeping this one like the original (rating being my key note here). Overall I enjoyed this movie very much, it has a solid story and a great cast. Penn Badgley plays a great role and steps up as a man should when a raving psycho is trying to bone your mom. I recommend this movie for anyone who wants to see a classic remake done well... oh and of course if you want to see the sexy Amber Heard in her undies and in a skimpy bikini GROWWWWL:

Jennifer's Body Review

Out of most of the horror movies I was/have seen this year I was not expecting to enjoy "Jennifer's Body" as much as I did. Lets get the basics of why this movie was good, the soundtrack for one. This movie has a ton of good music which was surprising to me. Its not a kill, kill, kill kind of horror movie but more so a very present day B-Rate movie. Some of the one-liners in the movie are just priceless. The story follows Jennifer's best friend trying to stop Jennifer from eating all the boy in the town. Its gets pretty bloody and the ending is fuckign awesome. I don't want to post any spoilers from this movie, I do recommend anyone who likes demon b-rate movies to definitley go see this one. I want to see it again ASAP!!!
did I mention you see Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried make out pretty hardcore in this movie? and again the ending is just awesome. 8skulls hands down for this movie.

Sorrority Row Review

Any time a horror movie has hot girls, murder and senseless nudity it pretty much means its hitting every major point in horror movie awesomeness. Although I wasen't too happy with how this particular movie ended I enjoyed Sorority Row for 3 main reason (no not the 3 I listed in the first sentence)Those reasons being:
1) Original Murder Scenes-
The death scenes in Sorority Row were pretty original, some of them you will have seen in other movies but I felt that for and american made horror movie in a college atomsphere it has some great and very creative murdering. Also to touch on that the weapon the killer uses is not only something you expect but at the same time something you don't expect. Kudos to SR for that!!!
2) Plot Twists-
You always are wondering in the movie "who is the killer?" and at one point your expecting one person of being that killer and 3 plot changes later your totally in the dark as to who it is. Now I will say that when you do find out who the killer is you may be kind of disappointed.. well atleast I was but I will give it to them, They did leave me guessing on to who to blame for the murders.
3) Finally as lame as a reason this is - Openning to a sequel-
Yes this movie is left wide open for a sequel, and yes this one wasen't all it was cracked up to be but they can do some serious fucking awesome shit for a sequel.. that of course means they'd have to do it right.
Overall, some of the acting is fairly rough (thats to be expected from a star taken from Mtv's the Hills) but its still worth seeing. Although if your really trying to get a scare factor to your maximum this is not the movie for that, this is more of a fun "chickflick horror" take your girlfriend to see and if shes like mine.. then she'll be scared. I'm being generous when I give it this rating but 7 skulls for this one.

Dark Room Theater Double Feature looks surprisingly funny..

Dark Room Theater is a double feature in the vein of The Twilight Zone, about ordinary people who find themselves in extraordinary, usually supernatural, situations, using both ironic and comic twists. The show is hosted by an animated character entitled Dr. Brainly, a brain that lives in a glass beaker from an experiment gone wrong or right depending on your point of view.

Todd McFarlane's Haunt is finally here!!!

The title centers on a pair of brothers, Kurt and Daniel Kilgore, who couldn't care less for one another. Kurt, a secret agent, and Daniel, a less than holy priest, bond in a way neither of them expects after Kurt's untimely death. A surprise fusing of Kurt's ghost with Daniel's body creates a chain reaction, turning the brothers into the character, Haunt.
Kirkman had alot to say about Haunt and working with McFarlane calling it "a dream come true".. reserve your first copy at your local comic shop today!!
Blood of Killers is a look in to the mind of..Killers

Visions.. a book you gotta ... SEE!

The end of August marks a few major points during the year.. The end of summer.. The beginning of fall .. and of course
The Countdown to HALLOWEEN!!!
So its only appropriate that with the coming of Halloween we see more movies, more comics and of course more books in the genres of horror. One coming out September 29th is Lawrence C. Connolly's Visions. A book of short stories in the realms of Science Ficion and the surreal fantasies where eerie things can happen. Check out what Horror.com had to say about it:
For three decades, Lawrence C. Connolly has defied category, writing across genre to create stories where dreams are reality, the future is now, and a lone madman may be the sanest person in the room.
Presented here with all new introductions that discuss the origins of the stories and featuring a retrospective essay about the road to publication and beyond, Visions: Fantasy & SF is a must for lovers of dark fantasy, science fiction, and heroic adventure.

Trailer for Grace is up and its intense!!!

So doing my usual weekly look at the new trailers on apple.com I found the trailer for "Grace" coming out on August 14th (in select theaters of course). This one is gonna be an intense mind fuck if you will.. heres the synopsis taken from apple.com:
Eight months pregnant, Madeline Matheson deflects her demanding mother-in-law’s insistent pressure for standard hospital treatment, instead opting for the peaceful companionship of a trusted midwife. Though reluctantly compliant, her husband remains supportive of her choices until a sudden tragic accident leaves her unborn baby lifeless inside of her. Madeline remains determined to carry the stillborn baby to term, where she miraculously wills the delivered corpse into life. But it is not too long before the increasingly isolated mother realizes that something is not right with baby Grace, and she must make horrible sacrifices to keep her living.

The first teaser image of Freddy Kruger being played as Jackie Earle Haley was released on the "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake. Horror Hero of the Week

Ghost Rider has superhuman strength and durability, as well as the ability to project and control Hellfire, which can sear the soul as well as burn the flesh. He can shape his Hellfire into a mystical motorcycle capable of traveling over water and up vertical surfaces. He is also immune to any mystical attacks that are specific to beings with living souls.
Blaze is a world-class cyclist capable of seemingly impossible stunts. He is also an excellent shot with pistols and shotguns and has limited knowledge of the occult.
When Blaze becomes the Ghost Rider he has complete control over a Hellfire Enchanted Chain which is nigh-indestuctible.
Look for Ghost Rider Comics from Marvel Comics every week.

Machete!!

Here are the people we have heard to be playing in it:
DANNY TREJO is returning (obviously) as "Machete", the madman bent on revenge.-
MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ ("Lost", Fast & Furious, Avatar) is said to be playing "Luz".-
JONAH HILL, the comedian who has starred in such films as Superbad will play "Julio
ROBERT DE NIRO, will take on the role of "Senator McLaughlin".
Here is the synopsis taken from bloody-disgusting.com
Machete is a Mexican ex-Federale with a gift for wielding a blade, who hides out as a day laborer, who is double-crossed by a corrupt state senator. The film was teased as a faux trailer that was directed by Robert Rodriguez in Dimension Films' Grindhouse, which featured a full-length film from both Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.
here is that trailer taken from grindhouse for those of you dying to see it in action (THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL TRAILER):

Wolfman reshooting.

Horror Hero!!!!

Today's Horror Hero is Morpheus of Vertigo Comics, The Sandman. Known as the who is essentially the anthropomorchic personification of dreams. At the start of the series, Morpheus is captured by an occult ritual and held prisoner for 70 years. Morpheus escapes in the modern day and, after revenging himself upon his captors, sets about rebuilding his kingdom, which has fallen into disrepair in his absence. Gaiman himself has summarized the plot of the series (in the foreword to Endless Night) as "The Lord of Dreams learns that one must change or die, and makes his decision."

The Collector Red Band Trailer Hits!!
Jennifer's Body Red Band trailer hits!
The Collector, July 31st

Hope everybodies 4th was as good as mine, although not to much news in the horror world as of today but I did get a chance to check out Bloody-Disgusting.com's 3 new high res pics of the poster for "The Collector" said to be released at the end of this month. I chose my favorite from the 3 to post. BD says" the slasher follows the story of handyman and ex-con Arkin, who aims to repay a debt to his ex-wife by robbing his new employer’s country home. Unfortunately for Arkin, a far worse enemy has already laid claim to the property – and the family. As the seconds tick down to midnight, Arkin becomes a reluctant hero trapped by a masked “Collector” in a maze of lethal invention – the Spanish Inquisition as imagined by Rube Goldberg – while trying to rescue the very family he came to rob."

Horror Hero of the Week

error has the ability to replace lost body parts (hand, feet, arms, legs, eyes, ears, nose, etc.) with limbs and organs taken from other organisms. He secretes a natural acid that serves as both solvent and glue: the substance loosens the connective tissues in the target body, allowing him to more easily rend the parts he needs; even if reduced to a head, torso and single arm, this allows Terror to gain enough leverage to remove the needed parts. Once that is accomplished, the substance then helps bond the purloined limbs or organs to Terror's body. The 10" spikes on his cheeks on both sides of his face can be removed and used as weapons, and if lost or damaged will regrow. He has greenish yellow skin, pronounced sharpened canine teeth, and a face resembling a nearly naked skull without lips or eyelids. He also has a metal glove encasing the hermetically sealed hand of a deceased lover.
Upon grafting the new pieces to his body, Terror becomes immediately aware of the previous owner's last memories and strongest emotions, including sights, sounds, or sensations which they once experienced. In some cases this is a liability, and he must ignore this knowledge to complete his task. The MAX imprint version of Terror had used animal parts for a time after his original body rotted away, turning himself into a satyr-like creature.
In addition to memories, Terror gains the skills and abilities of the person or being to whom the "borrowed" part belongs. Though he normally uses human parts, Terror has been known to use anything that he considers useful, even parts which he himself does not normally possess such as large wings or a prehensile tail. The same holds true for parts taken from super powered beings, though the power must be related to the body part claimed.
Though the body parts bond permanently with Terror, they are still dead tissue and will begin to decay at their natural rate. This gives Terror a distinctive odor, and also forces him to seek a constant supply of replacements.
Since his body is dead, many conventional attacks have no effect on Terror. He can survive being impaled, crushed or drowned. The only limit is injuries that incapacitate or restrict him physically.
It is unclear what, if anything is the "controlling" section of Terror. The only thing not shown to be replaced over the course of his appearances has been his head, which the MAX version of Terror can detach from body and affix onto another. He can use this new head as a disguise, changing his appearance and voice, and he is able to access the memory of the former owner of that brain without that victim's personality taking over Terror's. Apparently, the mystical ritual used to seal Talita's arm in a mystical armor transferred the "centre" in the arm itself: Terror has shown the ability to stay functional even if separated from it, but accelerating dramatically his rotting rate, and losing his ability to resist the personality and emotions lingering in his replaced limbs. If left with no access to Talita's arm for a longer time, he would rot to nothingness after succumbing to the personalities contained in his mismatched limbs.

"Jennifer's Body" Stills are looking goooood..

So Bloody-Disgusting had posted some scans from the newest issue of Empire magazine, which had these pictures of Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried's new movie "Jennifer's Body". The synopisis is either gonna make this movie really freaking awesome or totally bad. Either way I plan to see it. Did I mention the story was written by Diablo Cody (shes the chick that wrote Juno)
Well anyways heres the Synopsis:
The story of a cheerleader who is possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a Minnesota farming town. Her "plain Jane" best friend must kill her, then escape from a correctional facility to go after the Satan-worshiping rock band responsible for the transformation.

Trick' R Treat site is up..

Said to be one of the best halloween movies to come out in the past 30 years, "Trick r Treat" has the look horror fans love. Check out the site for the DVD release here .
This Synopsis is taken from Fangoria.com:
It is said that Halloween is the night when the dead rise to walk among us and other unspeakable things roam free. The rituals of All Hallows Eve were devised to protect us from their evil mischief, and one small town is about to be taught a terrifying lesson that some traditions are best not forgotten. Nothing is what it seems when a suburban couple learns the dangers of blowing out a Jack-o-Lantern before midnight; four women cross paths with a costumed stalker at a local festival; a group of pranksters goes too far and discovers the horrifying truth buried in a local legend; and a cantankerous old hermit is visited by a strange trick-or-treater with a few bones to pick. Costumes and candy, ghouls and goblins, monsters and mayhem... the tricks and treats of Halloween turn deadly as strange creatures of every variety-human and otherwise-try to survive the scariest night of the year.
Dylan Walsh still cutting up in Stepfather.

American Werewolf remake???

Dimension Films has been super busy with remakes this year so far. The second part of the Halloween story is coming out and Hellraiser on the way, but John Landis selling the rights to "American Werewolf in London" remake to Dimension?!? this can only be good news for all us gore loving movie buffs right? I sure hope, with the downturn the Twilight series has given the Vampire and Werewolf lovers in the world, a remake of this film will surely get the spooks back in some fans. Check out Bloody-Disgusting for the full story.
Sorority Row remake is looking surprisingly good..
college juniors CASSIDY (Briana Evigan), JESSICA (Leah Pipes), CLAIRE (Jamie Chung), ELLIE (Rumer Willis) and MEGAN (Audrina Patridge) are sorority sisters sworn to trust, secrecy and solidarity, no matter what. But their loyalty is tested when a prank at a raucous house party goes terribly wrong and Megan ends up brutally murdered. Rather than confess to the crime and risk destroying their bright futures, the girls agree to hide the bloody corpse and keep their secret forever.
Fast forward one year to graduation. As they prepare to say goodbye to the house and each other, the girls plan one last alcohol-fueled bash on Sorority Row, confident their dark secret remains buried. But does it? As the party rages in the front yard, the bedrooms and the hot tub, the girls receive cell phone videos taken the night of Megan's murder from an anonymous sender who threatens to forward the videos to the police. Then, one by one, the sisters and their unsuspecting boyfriends are stalked by an unseen killer.
